Escaping the Dragon Court -Trade

This is Orlando, a turquoise blue snowy owl from the Guardians Of Ga'hoole series.
Although his real name is Orlando, he favors the simple name "Striga", which is what his kind is called. His kind is more commonly known as the Dragon Owl, because they live in the beautiful Dragon Court, where they are unknowingly trapped by their own vanity and illusion of power. They come in a range of different blues, like a black which fades over time. Dragon Owls live a very long time, (in to their hundreds), and can not fly due to the weight of their long feathers. This doesn't seem to bother them though, as they have "servants" to carry their feathers. But these Dragon Owls, these Strigas, are prisoners without realizing it.
But Orlando here, he realized it. So he began cutting off his very long feathers to he would be able to fly to freedom and rid the world on vanities. He became pretty crazy and went as far as thinking anything beautiful was evil. But HE was the evil one, slowly controlling the mind of a king and nearly destroying a kingdom.
Here you can see the edges of his feathers becoming black and ragged, which happened later after he gained freedom and control. He is the descendant of a Hagsfeind, a legendary huge half-owl, half-crow demon sort of thing which used a form Natchmegan (evil magic) called Fyngrot to bring down those with noble hearts. They can use this becasue they are the only creatures born with the ability. Orlando can also sorta use it, even if he doesn't know it (its not as powerful as a real Hagfeind's). When Fyngrot is used, the user's eyes glow yellow and seem to stream out at you, and entrap you in the gaze until your wings lock and you fall to to your death on the ground far below. Only one thing can break the fyngrot, and that is...

If you wonder why I didn't add dark markings and stripes on him, its because normally, male snowy owls are pure white.

And he DOES have pupils, I just thought he looked cooler without. Plus, I wouldn't think pupils would be visible when using fyngrot anyway. (:
